ANIMATED MOVIES SUCK
The other night I took two of my grandchildren to see the movie Jumanji at the Grand Theater in Madison. I know that I am in the minority on this subject, but I do not care for all the animation that Hollywood is putting into their movies! I especially do not like the full length animated movies. It is like watching a cartoon! I actually have told many people this and am always ridiculed for my comments on movie animation.
When I go to the movies I like to see real people dealing with issues that humans have to deal with. I also love humor and want to laugh when I go to movies. And as long as I am at it, I like chick flicks! For the record I could be a movie critic with all the movies that I have seen over the years. So I started thinking if I could put together my top 20 favorite movies. I could prove that these movies are way better than any animated movie. So I wrote them down and really gave this a lot of thought. After looking at the list, I realized that these movies were really good movies and gave me confirmation that these movies are much better than any animated movie. So here are my favorite twenty movies.

18. Back to the Future
17. Field of Dreams
16. Young Frankenstein
15. JFK
14. Saving Private Ryan
13. Julie and Julia
12. Mamma Mia
11. Forrest Gump
10. Animal House
9. Schindler’s List
8. Titanic
7. Billy Jack
6. The Social Network
5. The Shining
4. Kramer vs Kramer
3. Blazing Saddles
2. Christmas Vacation

I love these movies and watch them over and over again. As you can see, no animated movies made the list and they will never make the list. I have seen some of the animated movies with my grandchildren. You can say they are cute. You can say the animated movie has a great story. You will not change my mind. You know what makes an animated movie worse? If it is a musical! I feel like starting a petition to stop making animated movies. If I had lots of money I would start my own movie company.
Animated movies that I remember watching with my grandchildren are Ice Age, Monster University, Despicable me, Frozen, Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs, and the Secret Life of Pets. Those are the animated movies I care to remember. All terrible! So why don’t I care for animated movies? Because nothing is real. It is fantasy. It is basically a cartoon. What is funny is that my grandchildren know I don’t like animated movies. Now when they hear that a new animated movie is coming out, they make it a point to tell grandpa. After attending the animated movie with my grand-kids they always want to know what I thought of the movie, knowing full well what the answer is going to be.
I love my grand-kids, but Hollywood please stop making animated movies. Please!
