LIFE HAPPENINGS

I took inventory of a few “happenings” that occurred in my life the last few weeks.

  • Observed a beautiful bald eagle trying to fly off with a raccoon. (He couldn’t quite lift it off the ground but he tried and tried, fun to watch)
  • Attended a wedding in July that had a Christmas theme to it. Christmas music was playing at the reception and Santa even showed up and I got a selfie with Santa ( I thought that was pretty cool idea)
  • Had a belly laugh with my wife (haven’t done that in a while)
  • Sad when I ate my last Kennedys Bakery roll. ( I savored every minute of it)
  • Killed a bat (I mean I captured it and released it 🙂
  • My 4-year-old granddaughter put her Yoga outfit on and gave me a Yoga lesson (I don’t think I will be doing Yoga)
  • Got a pedicure (it is a man thing now, don’t laugh)
  • Walked around Lake Harriett in the cities (3.2 miles with family, best 3.2 mile walk ever)
  • Golfed in my first summer golf tournament (and my golf partner got hit with a golf ball from another golfer, ouch!)
  • A lady told me I smelled good and asked what cologne I was wearing, I told her it’s called Sex Panther I bought it at Mo Jo’s (she turned red in the face and was embarrassed)
  • Went to the movie theater, but didn’t go to the movie I just wanted to buy popcorn (took it home and ate it)
  • Went to the Dairy Queen twice in one day with my grandkids (They think I’m the best grandpa ever!)
  • Took a day off work and went to Falls Park in Sioux Falls with my wife. (Our favorite place to visit, never gets old)
  • Got a new cell phone (I love getting new things)
  • Sitting in church Sunday thinking how much I enjoy going to church (worshiping, meeting new people, Pastor Eric’s sermon are awesome)
  • How tired I was after the 4th of July day was over (Full day of fun in Madison, parade, grandchildren, cookouts, fireworks)
  • Enjoyed reading about how 150 men from Madison went to LQP Village in 1871, physically picked up the courthouse and move it to Madison so Dawson couldn’t have it (I would have loved to been in on that)
  • Went for my early morning walk and a black lab dog running loose joined me for most of it (we are friends now; he looks for me)
  • My oldest son turned 40 years old! (Hard to believe, had a surprise birthday party for him)

I know I lead a boring life, but I challenge you to take an inventory of all the things you have done in the last week or so and write them down and see how you’re enjoying this life you have been given.
